“That’s a quaint, yet romantic notion I find very comforting, actually.”

That reminds me of: “What is life, without a little poetry in it?”

-[from the musical, Pirates of Penzance, by Gilbert & Sullivan].

(Maybe I didn’t get that quote quite right. Hm.)

Carol’s line reminded me of Ghostbusters:
Venkman: For whatever reasons, Ray, call it… fate, call it luck, call it karma, I believe everything happens for a reason. I believe that we were destined to get thrown outta this dump.
Stantz: For what purpose?
Venkman: To go into business for ourselves. [Takes a swig of schnapps]
Stantz: This ecto-containment unit that Spengler and I talked about is going to take a load of bread to capitalize. Where are we going to get the money?
Venkman: [Takes another swig] I don’t know, Ray. I don’t know.

(Act 1) KING: For what, we ask, is life
Without a touch of Poetry in it?

You were pretty close! And I never thought I’d see G&S quoted here, so that was a nice surprise. :)

Thanks, Kestrel! :)
I probably know some G&S tunes, since my family has a lot of anglophiles in it.
Also- my Dad’s family had a British/UK(?) housemate, who always sang G+S tunes in the shower, or something. So, my Dad likely knows all the G+S tunes by heart. Hm. ( He also likes Minnie + Mickey Mouse cartoons, so I guess he isn’t a snooty guy). :D
