I could have probably gotten several more pages out of Mike and the girls, but I was getting a little tired of not breaking things up and had hit a decent switch point. Plus a lot of people were starting to make wild guesses about what zany nonsense was going to happen and I was ready for a different discussion in the comments. Thomas and Rulette’s almost antagonistic relationship hasn’t been explored super deeply, so it’s someplace to mine a little bit on our way to the actual bit of story I want to get to. These two basically have a friendship that has been in a state of disrepair for a very long time. Thomas is one to hold a grudge, or internalize hurt a lot more than Patty, so it’s interesting to me to set them apart from each other. Hopefully you will feel the same way.

A storm has knocked out the power, so I’m uploading this as fast as I can before the battery runs out for the internet. Mom is doing fine. She’s got a lot of strength back, but does have to take little rests sometimes. Generally she can be left to her own devices. I don’t think she loves having me hover around all the time anyway. Even for the person who holds the record for tolerating me the longest I can be a bit much all the time. That said, all prayers you might have for her are welcomed.

I know people who get that exact reaction out of me all the time. I’ve used that exact same phrase Nearly verbatim at times weekly. I’m totally going to post this somewhere….I don’t know where yet…but I will think of something.

It takes me back to an old movie I loved “olly hopnoodles haven of bliss” the line was after the family was stuck in the over-packed Chevy on a one-lane road behind a truck loaded with chickens that attacked them with feathers and eggs and chicken-poo

She is giving such Peppermint Patty energy and I am totally on board.

I want Mike and Rulette to wind up together but also I worry that they wouldn’t work out. They both have great bubbly energy and optimism. Plus Mike is clearly down with the game scene and looking for new friends. I also was thinking that his interest in management would be another connecting point for them but the more I think about it, the more I can see that creating friction if they ever got together. So I am really not sure how it would end. But it’s probably moot. They seem like they will probably continue running parallel without ever getting together.

Does anyone have an episode number for where we got a bit of explanation on why Thomas has his grudge? I remember we got a bit when they met back up and a bit afterwards, but I forgot when.
