There’s a storm going right now that cut the power a moment ago, so I’m probably going to have to be brief. I don’t have much to report other than I’m under the gun at the end of the month, as usual, trying to get something done for my various patreon/subscribestar sites. In fairness my schedule has been disrupted, but let’s not pretend like this was a new thing. My poor time management is the real problem here. In any case I hope midweek finds you well. I got overheated again and it has taken me much longer to get over it this time. I’m starting to get back to normal, but my eyes are really bothering me. They are perpetually dry and no amount of drinking water, or eye drops, helps.
Anyway, I better get back to work. I hope your week continues to go well, or improve, depending on how it’s already going. Until next time, celebrate good tomes, come on.

Mike is really cementing his bro status with this one… I don’t know if anyone of Alex’s friends would intentionally interrupt their love affair, but between Maddison and Victoria alone is likely enough to divert passions.
Yeah was about to say, Mike is bro-coding the hell out of this situation, Reggie should thank him later for running interference.
Alternately, he is also helping Alex not get clam jammed.
Yes, nice show of discretion by Mike.
Unfortunately…he also admitted knowledge of said incident…and while he may keep these 3 occupied for an indeterminate amount of time…I still smell comedic coitus interruptus coming…there are just too many interested parties…in the store…at the same time…going in too many directions…circling around what is building up to be some shaking of the earth around the stockroom…and quite possibly the last day on earth for some piece of stockroom furniture.
Such entropy is destined to cause a ruckus not likely to be ignored…or a calamity either Reggie or Alex might need extraction from…or the in case of fire button pushed.
Although…it has yet to be seen if Mike has protested too much and been seen through by the unusually astute and somehow not poofed off in a puff of purple smoke Victoria…or the infinitely curious Maddie who is still armed with deadly puppy dog eyes…
Don’t get me wrong I am definitely root-ing (yes pun intended) for Alex to get her fill and even for Reggie to prove a little of his character development…and quite possibly set himself up for the future conversation (mom dad…I have to get married this girl you never met because we conceived our firstborn in the stockroom of that store I was working at that went under and there was over a dozen witnesses to the moment of conception) … seriously this is lining up to be a glorious spectacle.
Reginald is currently conducting a special operation vital to store security. That or he’s on a routine training mission to test the endurance of the store and the staff.
Thats adapted from when we couldnt say what we were doing on ye ol’ submarine.
We usually just stuck with the ol’ “If I told you, I’d have to kill you.”
This would be the time that their aunt would visit the store to congratulate Mike on turning things around, isn’t it?
Now THAT is devious.
I like it.
Oh Mike, may your wingmanager efforts not fly you too close to the sun…
“And when Reggie left, his hair was already quite mussed. Oh, anyone who may or may not have accompanied him during said break also had very tousled hair.”
I find hard to imagine Reggie not taking a second to pull a comb through his hair. Being a bit uptight has its advantages.
The dry eye thing happened to me one hot summer a few years ago, I even went to the doctor about it to have them tell me nothing was outwardly wrong. He suggested upping my water intake – you’d think 40-60oz would enough for the day for a small lady, but I went 80+ and it helped a lot. Did take a few days tho. Also I hope there’s nothing you’re sensitive to – the eye drops, new potpourri or aerosols, humidifiers that haven’t been cleaned in a minute, dusty environment? Doesn’t hurt to fix possible variables. Also give your eyes a break by looking out the window (20-20-20 rule, important when you’re working on a screen all day). Maybe see if it’s unusually dry in your area compared to past years (most weather sites should have an almanac afaik) given the weather this summer it’s not impossible.
It feels like a small complaint, but having your eyes itch all day every day is SO annoying >_< If you fixed possible variables and water intake, might be worth getting them checked.
I appreciate the advice.
This is my wheelhouse, so I’ll try to help, too. Do warm compresses; get a washcloth, soak it in water as hot as you can stand it without hurting yourself, then lay back (or sit with your head back), put the cloth over your closed eyes, then push in from the outside and massage your lids while the heat and moisture help to unclog your oil glands–tears without oil don’t work well. A $20 Bruder mask is also an option, available online, or pharmacies have their knock-off versions; you just microwave them for 30 seconds, and they release alot of hot steam (don’t do the electric ones alone; you want the moisture as well as the heat). If you’re doing eye drops, you can try to see if a preservative-free version works better than what you might be using. You can also try Biotrue contact lens solution; weirdly enough, one of the ingredients in it is a prescribed drug in Europe to help eye healing, but only approved as an additive in the US. It’s cheap. If you want a supplement that might help, do fish oil–it’s good for you anyway, but particularly helps dry eye (again, tears need oil). Cleaning your lids and lashes can also help; grab some lid scrubs at the pharmacy, or use some tea tree oil. These are all the cheapest options and the first things a good eye doctor will recommend. After this, you get into drugs and expensive treatments.
The current advice, last I knew, is “half your body weight in pounds as ounces of water per day.” If you weigh 80 pounds, 40 ounces will do.
Of course, this is advice from the same people who can’t figure out if eggs are good for you, so YMMV.
Just wanted to say seeing these two interacting with this dialogue is so fun. Thanks for the comics!
PS: Newish reader here, a few months only. Here to stay ^^
Welcome. Make some popcorn, won’t you? Extra butter. Likely to be quite a show.
Saw this comic and found it interesting enough to binge the archive. That was a few years ago, and here I am.
Are Evrina, Ramone, and Jess, all gonna walk in to, just have a full-cast party to celebrate Reggie’s wild oats and the sewing there of?
