The weed of crime bears bitter fruit, you old hag!

Today I adjusted my drawspace so that I can work seated on the floor. Sitting in a chair is almost unbearable. My hip aches when I try for very long. This setup worked pretty well. I was able to get a decent amount of work done for a change. It’s a bit awkward, but maybe with a little arts and crafts I can make it work better, in case my hip takes a really long time to stop hurting. I just need a solid surface to place my keyboard and mouse pad on. There’s probably spare wood in the shed. I can build a little tray, or something maybe.

I think I’m close to the end of Pokémon Y. I stopped the bad guy as far as I can tell, and I only need one badge. 3 of my monsters can mega evolve and a friend gave me a stone early, so I can use Mawile’s powers before the elite 4. It made her much more useful Especially nice change after dragging her all over the world like dead weight.
Most of my team are the descendants of my original team from way back. The family lines stretch back as far as trading allows. My gengar does his family proud, even if he isn’t shiny.

They actually give her -1 on account of them being distracting to her thought processes. She is just remarkably wise.

I cant hate reggie anymore- Youve made him far too human and relatable. Good job thats the sign of a good character.

“The weed of crime bears bitter fruit, you old hag!” Now where have I heard that before?

The initial source of the first part of the quote is from the old radio program “The Shadow”. At the end of each episode The Shadow reminded listeners that, “The weed of crime bears bitter fruit. Crime does not pay… The Shadow knows!”

The full quote actually comes from Clerks
“The Clipshow Wherein Dante and Randal are Locked in the Freezer and Remember Some of the Great Moments in Their Lives”
Season 1, Episode 2
Based on the 1994 Kevin Smith movie of the same name, this animated series follows the adventures of convenience store clerks Dante Hicks and Randal Graves.

Dante and Randall are trapped in the convenience store freezer. An old lady, seeing the place deserted, steals Dante’s coat. After she leaves, Randall yells, “The weed of crime bears bitter fruit, you old hag!”
Dante says, “Where have I heard that before?” and we go to a flashback of Randall yelling the phrase again. The recipient this time turns out to be his prom date.

Well isn’t that sweet, wait flowers can bear fruit?

The majority of fruits, nuts, and vegetables start as a flower. I can’t think of any that don’t…okay well broccoli turns INTO a flower, but it’s not a fruit so I guess that’s not relevant.

Butbutbut, what if someone said that to Bruce Wayne? Where would we be?

With Less supervillains in Gotham’s streets, and a Bruce Wayne having the proper treatment for his depression (be it medication, or a good psychologist). With a bit of luck, he’d still try to make the town a better place, in a less violent way.

Boring.

Batman would still be Batman.
There is nothing in the utterance that would change Bruce Wayne’s mind;
The crime that created Batman was committed against Bruce Wayne’s parents and himself.
Yes, Bruce Wayne was a victim.
From the ashes of the tragedy rose a dark knight bent on bringing justice to those that perpetrated injustices.
And the original Batman casually killed criminals;
Tossing them off of roof-tops.

I’m with Alex. There’s just no point in tracking them down and saying “You guys killed my family 100 years ago! So I hate you now!” And would he follow the line in the male name, or would he continue on with the women as well? This is far too complicated Reggie. You now know who killed those children. Take a breath, and walk away. The only justice that has been served is that the killers names are now known. You can’t do anything more than that.

Is the crazy cat lady single?

Do you mean “Hattie McDoogal” on Futurama? She’s twice widowed and actively looking. If you meant Alex, I think she’s single, but she’s got her sights solidly set on John Kepler.

If it was me, I’d honestly still try to find them. If nothing else, just so I could see what the bloodline is like now. Did those murderers propagate decent descendants or did their crime color their history? If the latter, in what way?

But then again, I am a vindictive person.

When after back surgery I couldn’t sit down my son put my keyboard and monitor on a stack of very solid plastic crates on top of my desk. I could compute standing up!
