There was a tornado watch today and a storm that disrupted my day in such a way that by the time I could sit down to make comics I wasn’t feeling very good. Enough that I just had to sleep it off. Technically I’ve posted this page on the right day, but I apologize for it not being up at the normal time.
Carol is much more brave than Thomas in many ways. It may not seem immediately obvious but Thomas is a very fearful individual. Comparatively Carol is basically fearless & self confident. They balance each other more than Nina & Thomas would, for example. Not that Nina & Thomas couldn’t have a very happy life if they became a couple, but the results would be different. Thomas wears a rock down like a constant flow of water. Carol breaks a rock like a hammer. You don’t always have time to move a rock with erosion. Sometimes you need a hammer.
I feel like there’s a joke between Carol’s hammer and her boobs, but I’m too tired. Thomas hard as a rock?
Actually, she calls it “The Mallet” because it’s made of silicone rubber
I’m pretty sure Carol is natural.
Busty heart on the other hand (actualy youd need 4 hands for her) DOES smash things with her boobs
Learning of Carol’s past storied existence is one thing Thomas has to look forward to. (I…might be speaking from personal experience here.)
Stop! Hammer time!
Did the comic change or something? I am seeing no references to a hammer at all…
(Comparing Thomas’ actions to water, made me think of [this] idea):
“Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way around or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves.
Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.”
(That’s a quote from Bruce Lee, the martial arts expert.)
Nina would bounce over the rock, or kick it away I’d imagine
As the cool philosophers say: What rock?
I was archive-diving (again), and it seem that Thomas and Carol are on the way to getting that complex relationship noted here.
” Sometimes you need a hammer.” This. As a vote incentive, with Carol swinging one of the huge comic hammers like Harley Quinn, or others.
That was such a great punchline Carol delivered in the last panel. Makes the whole conversation pull together.
I know how Thomas feels in this one.
