I’m going to post an edited comment from Wednesday that goes over the website issue some users have been experiencing:

I’m not fully versed in how websites work anymore, so excuse my simple explanation. Apparently my registrar doesn’t automatically update when the server does. The server admin found the issue and gave me the required information to do the manual update. In theory things should be fine now.

I would suggest picking one of the social media platforms I use to serve as an emergency contact point in the event of a service outage.

You can also use the site’s email which is betweenfailures @ hotmail .com

I warn you now that the messaging systems for most of those sites don’t work properly and it’s best to contact me via a comment. I check all facebook related sites only on posting days, so if you contact me there I’ll likely respond on Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday. I don’t like any Meta related sites and use them only as required by my job. Twitter is a fast way to reach me because I tend to misery browse at various points over the day. I don’t recommend actually following me on any social media unless you want to see my very random thoughts about pop culture, jokes of varying quality, and me randomly picking fights with people for no clear reason. Bluesky is basically just an RSS feed I have to manage because I like it even less than twitter, which is quite an achievement really.

As far as the email goes I’m not sure what criteria Outlook uses to decide what is or isn’t spam. Generally I will get most legit messages in my phone but not always. If the site is down though it’s a direct line to me if you hate social media and I wouldn’t blame you if you do.

There are other sites you can contact me on but they really aren’t reliable compared to these options. That said, if you know where my other profiles are you’re welcome to contact me there if you like. I have found that the best way to never have a stalker is to be available to everyone basically all the time. No one ever gets obsessed with me because my personality is relentless and draining.

I would also add that you shouldn’t feel insulted if I don’t follow back, or friend, or whatever the sites call it. I have made it a general practice not to do that anymore unless some level of compatibility is observed first.

In the early days of webcomics it was very much the trend to follow everyone back and interact with people, but it only led to trouble for me. It was also typical for some people to “sell” access to your time, which never seemed right to me because I had no concept of the value of my time. Even now that I do it still seems incorrect to sell access to myself, but objectively it’s probably not as big a deal as it seems to me. That said it still seems odd to portray interacting with me as some sort of privilege reserved for people who pay me…

That is probably because there are so few people who are trying to occupy my time against my will.

Anyway, I have to get to other things now, so I hope you’ll forgive this administrative post. I will see you on Monday, God willing, and hope you have a nice weekend. Until next we meet, tell them about the Twinkie.
