I still have the original computer I used to start making this comic. I’ve kept it as updated as it can be in case of emergency. My art is so simple I don’t really need modern art programs to make new pages, it just takes less time. In my ongoing quest to sort out the disaster of my living spaces I removed the old tower and screen from its nook and decided to see if it needed cleaning out before I moved it out of the way. Honestly I don’t know how much dust can get into things. It took the better part of two hours to vacuum and blow out the dust. It was so bad that the air in the kitchen was hazy hours later in spite of my using the vacuum to mitigate it as much as possible. After I was done I turned it on to make sure I hadn’t damaged anything, or knocked anything out of place somehow. It started up faster than it had in years. I had no idea how badly the dust was impeding its operations.

I’m not sure where it’s going to end up living now, but it’s just sitting in the living room now on the table with the other stuff that is in a state of flux. I now realize that it has an HDMI port on the back. I didn’t have any HD screens back then, but I want to see if it can actually hook up to one now at some point. Just to see.

Back then I had two screens. The drawscreen and a regular one for looking at internet stuff. These days you can just hook them to televisions with those hd cables. I think it’s neat to see my art all big on them. My eyesight is much worse than when I started so seeing it big is nice.

Anyway, I’m late getting this out so I’ll leave it at that. Remember to avoid death’s icy hand. Good luck. TTFN.

Ordinary vacuum cleaners don’t have very good filtering, so small dust particles mostly just pass through them, and the dust that accumulates inside a computer tends to be almost completely made out of small particles. If your computer is full of dust, you should clean it outside.
