I bought these eye was cups to see if rinsing my eyes out would help with my allergies, since nothing else seems to do anything at all now. It’s a little burny, and makes my eyes a bit dry, but not the same way the allergies do. It also seems to clear my eyes for the better part of the day and allows me to stay awake in a normal way. I was trying to do the same thing with a small cup but it wasn’t working nearly as well. I have to heat the water a little bit so it’s not freezing cold too. I haven’t quite figured out exactly how long it takes and keep making the water too hot and then I have to wait for it to cool down again. Anyway, I suspect I’ll figure it out after I do it enough times. It seems to help quite a bit so I’m going to keep doing it. I’m still having my eye twitch in my left eye, but I’m not sure if that’s just stress, or the irrigation, or something else. It used to happen with lack of sleep so maybe that’s what it is. I did sleep a bit better the last couple of nights so maybe the eye wash is helping things trend in a good direction. Anyway, I won’t bore you any more tonight with my various complaints.

I will say that if you want to support my work please do so with the links above. Let’s meet back here on… Friday? Yeah, Friday. Or late Thursday assuming I can keep my act together for the next day or so. Until next we meet keep your stick on the ice.

Nice callback there

Alex is a very observant person. That will serve her well in the sphere of dating.

I’ve only seen it in TV shows (like anyone would trust me to feed a baby!) but shouldn’t throwing a few drops of water on the inside of your wrist give a good idea of when it’s just the right level of tepid?

Alex is wrong about John. She’s his first and literally only choice, since we’ve only seen him liking her. Reggie liked Nina first (which Alex doesn’t know about), but John never went for Carol or Nina.

When you have allergies, and if you can stand doing it, eye washes and nasal rinses (neti pot) can help a lot, especially if you’re having to follow up with eye drops and a nasal spray. Cleaning stuff out helps regardless, but it also helps the medicine to work better since its working around less crud.

Seconded for the neti pot. I’ve fortunately grown out of my allergies, but when it was bad I’d do that in the morning and be good most of the day.

About regulating temperature:

Cold water’s temperature varies in summer and winter. It might vary with day-to-day weather variation too. So finding the “right” time to heat it might be tricky.
I suggest using a thermometer to measure the temperature. Maybe a fever thermometer if it reacts fast enough.

One cup of distilled water in a two cup Pyrex measuring cup heated for twenty seconds in a 1100 watt microwave gives me the right temperature for my sinus rinse. That said, I do the baby-bottle temp test and drip a drop on my wrist. YMMV as always.

If water is too pure it can get heated past the normal boiling point. Then random shocks and vibrations can set it off and it’ll *all* *suddenly* and *dangerously* explode into steam. Careful with the timing if you use distilked. You probably want sterile water, anyway.
My wife used to run a microbiological research. They had distilled water and deionized water, and they used tgem for different purposes. Different kinds of impurities.
