1733 So You Say.

Due to various interruptions to my schedule I was working on this page almost right up until post time. My sleep got so totally disturbed that I’m barely functional right now. I seem to have popped that spot on my ribcage out again and it hurts too. Also after several days of my allergies not bothering me quite so badly today it’s like they came back for vengeance. A lot of bullshit all at once. I prefer it spread out.

I wonder if part of the problem with my eyes being so dry is maybe that I need to get new glasses. I’m functionally blind to text in my right eye that isn’t less than a foot from my face. Honestly I need to take care of my eyes most of all because they are as crutial to my success as my hands. I kind of thought science would have come up with some better fixes by now but once again it has failed me. Maybe that’s just what happens in a culture that fundamentally hates science for, oh, 3 decades…

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Evrina show concern for someone else before now. I love all the extra dimensions this story line is adding to these characters.

Even for a tough lady like Evrina, she still knows that a decade will never diminish or erase the immense feeling of loss, especially when it’s a parent or sibling.

Things I notice – the usually very wordy Alex is abrupt and to the point. This is something she still is obviously emotional about, as has been hinted at, which is further confirmed by Evrina’s visible shock.

I restate the point I made on previous comics – I really don’t think Alex is going to be…enthused about learning of this “mutual acquaintance”. This very much feels like the point of the conversation where things can either escalate until they pop, or where Alex can either cut it off without warning…both equally disheartening to all involved.

This would also prove Edward’s point of why Nina has never been hired at the library, despite her constant applying and perfect bibliophilic credentials.

“bibliophilic”?

They’ve got websites for that!

You bet! They even have BOOKS for that, too! ;D

:-)

I’ve heard the self help ones can be very gratifying

Heh, heh! :D

…Or maybe the slogan is: doing self gratification, with the porno books, can be very gratifying?

Do you think that a man, who likes bools TOO MUCH, should be called, a “bookmaker”? ;)

I mean, [books], not, “bools”. Sheesh, lookit my typing skills! :)

As Elan would say: “Duhn-duhn-DUHN!!”

The foreshadowing makes it look like this is something John is going to be very concerned about rather soon.

It would be nice to see a flashback.

It’s always nice to see the characters at a different age, with different hairstyle, etc.

I may need to steal panel 4 as an gravatar for the next time I realize I’ve put my foot in it!

I can practically feel the awkward creeping up my thigh … ALERT: <catastrophic mixed metaphor — sentence aborted>
