I wrote a long ass post tonight but decided I didn’t have time to explain all the details in a way that wouldn’t cause a fight with audience members who fly off the handle before you get done even establishing the setup. I don’t have any peers who I can really talk to about certain things and it gets to me sometimes because no one has any understanding of what I’ve been doing for the last 20 years. It makes me feel like a crazy person sometimes because no matter how much I explain things either no one gets it, or they start arguing with me even though I haven’t even laid out a tenth of any argument I might have. Even my closest friends, of who (whom?) there are very few, just listen out of courtesy, but they don’t GET IT. It is a kind of isolation that is different for the regular kind because it’s more like standing in a room full of deaf people while you scream to be heard. They aren’t being callous, they just lack the ability to communicate. I guess there’s no point in thinking about it. I can’t fix it. This is just one of the aspects of my life that’s forever going to irritate me for lack of an outlet.
