1436 Sticky Sweet.

I don’t like pancakes. I’ll eat them if it comes to nothing else, but they never have done a thing for me. Eggs, sausage, ect, I don’t care for that kind of breakfast food. Hash browns are okay, depending on how you make them. I do like biscuits and gravy if the gravy isn’t too meaty. If I’m gonna eat pancakes I prefer molasses or peanut butter. I can’t get into maple syrup. Whipped cream I actually think is a little gross. When it comes on stuff I try to get someone else to eat it off for me. When people get excited about Ihop I’m like, meh. Carol is the opposite of all of that. Obviously.

The teen bought me another Scooby Lego, but I have to build it before she goes to sleep.

Teen Corner:

hello world I’m not sure if any of you remember but I am now talking to you as a sophisticated 17 year old. who am I kidding me sophisticated? yeah right. but I am now another year older. I had a sleepover birthday party which was pretty fun but all we really did was eat to much and watch movies. we also played a little truth or dare. not to exciting really but I got an awesome sapphire heart ring ive been begging for, 50 bucks, 30 dollars in google play cards and I saved the best for last…wait for it…a PS3!! I’m pretty pleased with all my awesome gifts. I had my first volleyball game on my birthday and we kicked ass so that was great. I bought Jackie a Scooby go lego set with part of my birthday money which he seems happy with. I spent all day in garden city helping my sister find jeans and by that I mean wandering around Walmart avoiding helping her. I know I’m so mean but I mean really? I have to waste my sunday on this? I think not. I did however get ice cream out of it. I had a volley ball game yesterday and we got our asses kicked so that sucked but oh well. I’m super tired and cant think straight so speak to you all another night bye interwebs peeps!

I knew it was coming and still didn’t care, I know how thomas feels. How is carol capable of being terrifying, erotic and adorable all at the same time?

no edit, so I’ll just say happy belated birthday teen.

@Crave I kinda tend to skip breakfast all together, I really forget about it mostly. If I ever have a hot breakfast its oatmeal, otherwise if I have a choice I like cinnamon toast crunch or apple jack’s cereal…

No maple syrup????? Heathen!!!!

Of course, if you’re talking about that disgusting imitation maple flavored junk, you’re excused. But real maple syrup? That’s the elixir of the gods!

I really should have realised that she was talking about some kind of food before I scrolled down to the last panel.

Yeah, it’s a pretty common joke to do something like this. But as I’ve said to people a thousand times, you don’t always have to have a 100% original idea, hell you don’t even have to have any originality in some instances like here. You just need to be able to execute the scene/joke properly, and you’ll get the desired effect.

He executed this perfectly….

Oh yeah so I don’t know why it just hit me all of a sudden, but your art was feeling especially on point in this one. Something just feels perfect about the strip.

I think the word your are looking for is more “animationish” with added weight on the “asian” feel to it(AKA: anime) and actually feel more like a animation storyboard then a comic, which can usually be a good thing….just not the standard style many think about in regards to a webcomic, but in this type of series it fits much better then the typical style, though i guess many people reading typical webcomics may not feel too comfortable with another style then what they are used to and end up getting easier negatively towards it, but that does not mean the art/story is bad…..just different and arguably better in my opinion^^

So, do you mean that weird white gravy you people eat down there, that thin chicken gravy infecting poutine up here, or that proper, thick, dark brown gravy that tastes so delightful with biscuits?

I like brown gravy when I can get it but most everyone else likes turkey gray or white sausage gravy. I like white sausage if it’s peppered well and doesn’t have too much sausage. Since brown is unpopular its hard to get anyone to make it.

I reccommend making it yourself. It’s the only way. Stick it on some fries and source some cheese curds, it’s delightful.

Crave had asked in his tweets about- is there a comic event where the heroes fail, and the Universe ends, well, If I understand it correctly:

Spoilers:

In the Novel, “Good Omens”, that Neil Gaiman co-wrote, one of the bad guys escapes a type of an “end of the universe”, + makes off with some of the good guys/innocent bystanders. Hm.

All the time I was growing up, my Mom would make pancakes for breakfast every morning. Now that I’m an adult, with grown children of my own, I can understand the love that goes into something like that. But after 5, 6, 8 years of it, it can get .. routine.

IHOP can even put a smiley-face made of pieces of fruit to put on top, and it’s still something that you need to eat (with peanut butter and [homemade] maple syrup) so you can get on with your day.

And I’ve never understood waffles. They’re just pancakes with a different shape. And the little squares grab and hold onto whatever you’re putting on top, destroying the balance — the zen, if you will — of the experience.

Have you considered Dutch pancakes? They’re about four crêpes thick, flour, eggs and milk, fried in the pan in heated butter (the real deal).
The most interesting thing is the additions. While it’s baking you can add bacon, grated cheese, apple, onions etc. just whatever you like, a lot of the versions are not sweet but savoury.
I really enjoy combinations that do not seem to match at first sight at all. Recently I had bacon & aged Dutch cheese to which I added sugar syrup (not maple), sugar and a little lemon juice. It turned out delicious.
Later I read on Wikipedia that it’s fairly common to eat aged Dutch cheese with syrup. I never did that before.
Note: Dutch cheese is like Gouda in shape. Except we’ve got zillions of different brands and ages. It’s those that are too delicious to export :P
Note2: If you’re going to bake a pancake with onion and bacon I recommend adding the bacon first, fry it for a short while, then add the onions, fry again for a short while and then pour the pancake batter on it. Then flip it once it’s solid enough to do so. This order ensures that all ingredients are cooked sufficiently without charring the bacon on onion, or leaving them soggy.
