Oh, boy. Someone will read too much into this.

And the Eternal Question: Are you “Victoria/John” Shipper or “Maddison/John” Shipper?

Personally I like “Victoria/John” better.

Victoria/John would annoy Reggie, and that’s always fun.

Maddy/John is cute. Notably, they can be the best of buds and not be in a relationship, and still fill this scene.

John is known for sleeping around, so it’s also plausible that he could be in one or the other or both at the same time at any point in the story, though that last one is going to need him to either mature more or show the maturity that he’s been at least flirting with on realizing he’s a bit of an asshole.

We do know that Maddy finds Reggie to be cute, do we know if John is in her list of people she’s attracted to?

Victoria/John. To me, they just have more chemistry. I’ve said it before, but Maddison has too much little sister energy for me to ship her with anyone.
And a guy and girl can just be friends. Look at Thomas and Nina.

Hmm.

Maybe she’ll end up with the blue-haired [guy?] that likes to, sometimes, steal stuff from Mike’s store.

The dyed-blue-haired guy, is kind of an easy going, laid back guy. He’s unpretentious + stuff.
He’d mesh well with Maddie’s style.
:D

( And as for the stealing-thing, maybe she can teach him some other, non-erotic, fun things to do. Skateboarding or dancing, anyone?)

Frankly, I’m of the opinion that Madison and Alex are exactly the Mirror John needs to realize he’s been a but of a bastard to women and to improve himself.

He has spent his life chasing cheap thrills and never really navigating his own failures until recently. Even with Alex, his shallow nature didn’t let him see what opportunity he had in front of him before it was too late.

I don’t know if outside of Jo, John has ever really explored much in the way of close friendships with the opposite sex, and I’m fairly certain he sees her as a little sister. I don’t know how close he is with Carol or Nina outside of work, but that could be my faulty memory failing me.

Either way, I hope for his sake this leads to some reflection and maybe his ability to stop thinking with the lower head for once. Of course, given how powerful a motivator hormones can be in your 20s, we’ll see how that pans out…
