Well I guess I’ll break from my usual style and remind people that you can support my work via the links provided around about the page. The need is becoming progressively more dire, even though it’s not unexpected.

What else? I dunno. I’m kind of distracted by the funding issue since I spent all day dealing with things related to it. Having to mess with my health care plan every year annoys the shit out of me. Especially since it’s such an aggressive illustration of how incompetent government is. The fact that I’m paying a lot more to get a lot less is just insult upon insult. If I felt like I was getting value for my money it wouldn’t trigger my misanthropy quite so much. As it is I feel like I’m being treated like a criminal for following the rules. >:[

I guess I’ll leave it on a sour note rather than go on into a sour symphony. I hope you have a nice Monday and I will see you again on Wednesday. until then, freshness is guaranteed.

“The fact that I’m paying a lot more to get a lot less is just insult upon insult.” I’m sorry to hear that you are suffering from your country’s crappy “health care” system, but the problem with it is not so much the government as the profit-seekers that have insinuated themselves into it.

Is it your first day here? Where do you get off coming in here saying this like he doesn’t know that already, you smug little ass?

Are you serious? Your comment is completely inappropriate!

As Thumper’s Daddy told him in the Disney movie Bambi: “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.”

Uhm… That’s a feature, not a bug. If you had good quality healthcare priced reasonably, no one would need to be forced, coerced, or “persuaded” into it. The governments involvement tells you all you need to know. It is absolutely amazing that anyone would think involving government MORE in something would improve it or make it less expensive.

I feel like you’re on the right track with the issue and then tripping at the final line.

Companies won’t provide “good quality healthcare priced reasonably” if they can get away woth jacking the price up. The only way to do something about it, is for the people to somehow create a regulatory system that prevents that from happening. I.e. government regulations. The fact that the current American system is in shambles is because the government itself is broken.

For comparison, consider the German healthcare system, you pay for health care insurance but the government requires them to provide a minimum level coverage at an affordable price, part of it is paid into by your emplyer, the rest by you. And when unemployed you can get the government to take over that cost till you get reemployed.

Everything in addition to basic coverage is a choice and is paid for privately.

And you are absolutely right about health plans. It was ridiculous before, it only got worse since. Being a contractor who supplies their own health insurance is just a big nightmare pile.

It may be genes, or something else, but I’m fine as an American with not participating at all in this “health” care system. Don’t have a doctor. Haven’t seen one in over 9 years (since (I went to the hospital with a severe heart flutter and was told there’s nothing wrong with my heart.)

These two are adorable, honestly lol. This is such a specific and genuine type of friendship dynamic, its perfect for them and just makes me smile
