Well, another weekend is upon us. It feels like it got here very quickly. Maybe that’s just how it’s going to be forever now. I intend to spend the weekend on my continuing quest to get my life in order such as it is. I put an air purifier in the basement to help mitigate the dust so I can stay down there longer. It’s a little small for the space but better than nothing. outlets are limited so running more than 3 or 4 things at a time is a bit of an issue. I think I might be able to string more lights up if they were LEDs though. I have containers for old Marvel Comics toys, Resident Evil figures, Dragonball, and others. I have no particular attachment to them anymore so my intent is to sell them to someone who will enjoy them.
I also have a huge selection of early 2000s Simpsons figures. The line was called World Of Simpsons if you want to look it up. They could interact with bases that said catchphrases when figures were placed on them. They’re just barely action figures because of the gimmick, but they are decent display representations of the characters. Some of them really throw into stark contrast how some of the characters aren’t meant to exist in the third dimension. I intend to sell off most of them. At the same time I kind of want to keep the best main characters. Of course it gets very difficult to part with them the more you think about who you might want to display. It might be better to just sell all of them and be done with it. I could potentially pick up some of the much smaller figures that are coming out right now that would take up less space. Or I could simply not own any at all and my life would really not be affected all that much outside of my obsessive desire to place sets of things on shelves and look at them. I haven’t watched an episode of The Simpsons since the movie I would guess. In a lot of ways I consider the The Principal & The Pauper to be the first episode of the non canonical Simpsons lore. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the show that’s where one of the core characters is revealed to have been living a lie for the entirety of the show and it kind of fucks things up to a degree that taints the whole thing. At the same time some good episodes come after that, so it’s kind of a “who gives a fuck” situation. Well, I give a little bit of a fuck at least. The Simpsons has a sweet spot where the concept hits its stride after the kind of lame first few seasons. A lot of people consider the episode I mentioned to be the end of that golden age. It’s about seasons 3 to 10, give or take.
As far as the older toys go I have about the first 4 waves or so. There were 16 or so waves, not including exclusives and such. I can’t remember why I stopped collecting them. I started because I had been watching the show a lot at that time because of the relentless misery of my life at the time. Which is kind of how everything starts with me. I get fixated on something and hone in on it like an insane person.
In any case I have a lot of odds and ends too that I kept out of sentimentality that I don’t really feel attached to now. Some video game stuff, collectible card games, floppy comics, and stuff I’ve probably forgotten. I’d like to get the stuff to people who will appreciate them. Getting them to people who will give me money for them is probably the better strat, but I’m certainly no strategist.
Anyway, It’s time to post, so I’ll leave it there. I hope you have a nice weekend and I will see you Monday. Please consider supporting my work via the links scattered about the page. Until next time, do doot do do doot do do do do do dooo.

lmao I read Evrina’s last sentence like Roche from FF7R
“MAI FREND!!!!”
The first comic of spoopy season.
I like how Reggie says things like, [You’re Alex’ friend, + you’re at work, so I’m not gonna with you, unless you start it], while Alex’s attitude is- [I’m here, too, but I’ll perturb you if I like].
It’s a good comparison, of Alex’, + Reggie’s, relationships with Evrina!
:D
Alex has earned the right to do that with Evrina over many years (and vice versa), while Reggie hasn’t (yet).
He’s smart enough to understand that.
You bet.
:)
Hmmm… feels like ‘as I see fit’ could be Alex’s defining one-sentence character note. I guess little rich girls DO tend to be that way, no matter the intellectual pretensions they may indulge in.
Ah. In the Good Old Days (late 60’s early-to-mid 70’s) the hucksters’ room at a science fiction (or comic) convention would have been the perfect place to sell your action figures. Tables were usually around $10 and you didn’t have to submit an application and get lucky. I’ll bet fans would have appreciated and bought them, even though they aren’t old pulp magazines, comics, or used books. Regional conventions usually had a couple hundred members, rarely reaching a thousand, so they were much more comfortable events too. Fans bought “memberships”, not “tickets”, and tended for the most part to act that way. We mostly expected we’d entertain ourselves rather than hoping to see “events.”
I miss those days. Or maybe I’m just getting old and nostalgic.
That and you never know who needed one last figure for their own collection.
You might want to try a Corsi–Rosenthal Box for the dust.

Reggie being just super mature up in here today.
Wouldn’t it be funny if John shows up?

Oh, it can get worse. One of my aunts (who is 92 now) said, several years ago when she was ‘only’ in her 70ties, that she used to feel it was weekend all the time, but now she felt it was Christmas all the time.
