Oh dear I just realized something.. are Carol and Thomas still there?

yep, that’s gonna be another revelation for Reggie lol

I had an urge to go back and reread the Hotel arc recently, and shortly after Thomas already basically admitted to Reggie that he and Carol are a thing (Strip 2429).
I doubt Reggie will cause any intentional trouble about it – he considers Thomas a friend, and also likely knows he can’t claim any high ground over dating a coworker given how openly he pursued Nina – something Nina recognized even prior to Reggie’s character development (Strip 1015).

Ok I think I get what’s going to happen here.

Reggie’s gonna find out Carol and Thomas get together. He agrees to keep it a secret as a sign of Character Development. He does entrust Shades McShitlord with the secret offhand, because he likes to let people know how he’s “in” on things, who rats out the pair to the GM and/or Corporate. Drama ensues.

Corporate is not going to want to get real involved considering that that is the ONE outlet that is actually turning a profit right now. Strongly Worded Memos may fly, but that will likely be about it.

When they last met- did Reggie + Evrina part- as friends, or at least- as people who are neutral to each other?
I’ve forgotten how they’d left things.

Grudging respect for how Reggie explained how he spent a night of passion with his cousin by marriage and that he was invited to the Order of the Pelt.

Is how I remember it.

They definitely weren’t friends though.

Erina also said something favorable about Reggie’s moxie, to Neal.

Neal replied that Evrina’s words about him were “practically a love poem”.

Evrina is a very different kind of mouse and certainly has her own drummer.

Cool!
Thanks for telling me about that.
She is very intelligent, but- maybe it’s because of her…[sometimes, rowdy actions], I forgot that she can have a thought-provoking, + an intellectual, side.

…”Sometimes, rowdy actions”…! I almost wrote down, “sometimes, rowdy periods!…”

GEEZUM! XD

… Would it REALLY have been that difficult to prioritise imparting this very salient piece of useful information to Reggie, rather than finger-wagging about religion? Nice going Alex.

If you can unironically characterize what Alex said as “finger wagging” it’s shocking you have the mental capacity to use salient correctly.

Reggie started the conversation, then walked away before it was finished–it’s his own fault, as it so often is.

Alex saying “oh dear” is very in line with her telling Reggie to not grouse.

Whatever happens next she’s the best bet to calm the waters.

I didn’t say anything earlier because Carol not knowing what mauve is seems in character. But now that you have two characters getting mauve so very wrong, I’m worried that the author doesn’t know. Mauve is a dull pale purple. This is closer to burgundy, but just calling it dark red is also valid. I suspect that the paint store had a specific name that invoked the blood of christ, and that’s why Ramon chose it.

It’s super fucking funny to me how ass itchy people get over incorrect color identification. I’m maliciously doing it for my own entertainment.

(Whispering like the ghost voice, in The Field of Dreams)-
…if you build those comments,…the ass-itchy doofuses will come!…

:D

(That’s a joke, sons. A joke, that is.)

Doesn’t look burgundy either, as that is also purple and not dark red. It’s actually closer to old mauve.

Not that I really care, but it’s funny when pedants get their pedantry wrong.
