Let hijinks ensue
Ed is taking the sudden appearance of his sister with remarkable equanimity.
Probably not the first time it’s happened.
They had a pretty great heart-to-heart the previous evening, so I’d reckon he’s feeling pretty secure in where he stands
Not to mention the mellowing effect of the rest of the night’s activities
Now there’s a word to live by.
“…She still LIKES you!”
Oh, that’s awesome!
I guess Jo means: “She’s giving you that sexy, [hot] nickname, because: she thinks you’re sexy, + [still] wants to be your good friend, even [after] you guys were once lovers”.
To me- Jo + Evrina are some of those still or diminutive waters, that run deep.
:)
i dont know why the word “lez-bean” is hillarious to me
“Sweet Pea and the Heartbreak Kid” sounds like a mid-70s movie full of hijinx and crime solving.
I think you just gave Jo her next film plot. How soon can you have a script written up?
I think Sweet Pea was the name of Popeye’s daughter with Olive Oil.
Adopted kid, Sweet Pea was technically born before Popeye and Olive OYL met.
Oh, so there’s some deep lore here.
*snicker*
:D
From a Star Trek film,[paraphrased]:
Kirk: “This is an earlier, more primative time!
These people read novels by people like, “Zane Grey”, and “Barbara Cartland.”
Mr. Spock: “Ah! The Classics!”
If you want to get really technical about it Popeye actually calls him Swee’Pea.
Harold Robbins & Jacqueline Sussan! The Giants!
Bravo! That’s them!
:D
Very deep. Popeye has been around since 1929 and many of the characters have long and intricate back stories. Before he appeared the strip, then known as “Thimble Theater” had already been running for a decade and mostly focused on the adventures of Olive Oyl and her inventor brother Castor. (Yes, pretty much all of her relatives have punny names.)
Also, Swee’ Pea is a boy.
Jess should have kept her black & white shirt. Then all three women would be wearing the same thing.
Give Kitty her cheeseburger.
She can has cheeseburger?
Borgir!
If that wasn’t his sister, I’d love to be Ed at that table. The amount of sensual tension would be fun.
Hey, Evrina got to ditch the new waitress outfit. Good for her. Although given history, I wonder whether she miiiight have wanted to see Jess’ reaction to it.
