Uh…I mean, poly relationships do exist. There’s no reason to trade places if everyone’s cool with it. It takes open communication and a lot of scheduling but there’s no actual reason to be strictly monogamous. They have all the makings of an epic cuddle pile here.
I don’t think either of them are cool with it, especially Ed. There’s no actual reason NOT to be monogamous either. I’m not knocking poly people, but most folks aren’t wired for it and it fails due to exponentially increasing complexity with each person you add. And like you said, if that was going to be considered, it would be a very serious and deep conversation about a myriad of things, not adding a third person to the mix on a lark.
