The history between these two characters hasn’t ever really been explored, only implied. They are members of a club for Furries. People who often feel like outcasts in their own families. It is natural for humans, when their original group becomes fraught, to seek out a new one. Fundamentally tribal, but also communal. To make it plain to someone, especially if it has never been spoken aloud, that you consider them part of your family means something important. I choose to love and accept you. In spite of, or because of, your faults you are one of mine. It is worth articulating.

Victoria very much wants to run a pizza place with creepy automatons in it. Evrina is helping to run a strange, themed, cafe that doesn’t fully know what it is. They are of a kind. Perhaps on a whim, or because she senses Evrina’s fraying nerves, or maybe just because they have been in proximity in their off hours, Victoria stated openly, clearly, that Evrina is one of hers. I could have jumped past this interaction and gone on to some other thing, but it came to be as I walked through a dark house. When your heart, or brain, or whatever, offers up something that feels right I have learned to just go with it. Let’s see what happens.

I suspect that some of you have had difficult weekends, and that you are still emotionally drained, hurt, worried, and possibly many other things.
