1446 Mismatch.

Reggie has not warmed to Mike particularly, but I think Mike has decided that Reggie is a good employee, in spite of his tendency to be accident prone. Maybe someday Reggie will appreciate being appreciated.

Went to the doctor today. Got all checked out. My blood pressure is doing better. I’m on half meds for a while until we see how that works out. My wrist pain is probably a vein that got damaged in some way and is now superfluous. It’s probably close to a nerve witch is making it hurt. I may also have some carpal tunnel. My dizziness could be from the medication but my nose and ears are inflamed enough that some, or all, of it could be that. I’ve got new instructions on how to deal with all these issues. I was able to stay mobile around town for a pretty long time today before I had to rest. I looked all around the store, used the restroom, paid for my stuff, and went to gamestop, before I got to the point where I was starting to really notice myself giving out. I’m supposed to space out my medicines now to see if any one in particular is causing the weirds spasm I’ve been having. So far it looks like it might be my big pill. It didn’t always do this so maybe I just need a smaller dose. Anyway, I think I need to take it a little longer after eating tomorrow, just to make sure it isn’t a blood sugar spike, or something. My blood pressure was pretty good even after a whole cycle of dosing, which is good. It’s staying pretty low even when the effects of the drugs will have tapered off from the previous day. My leg veins are healing well and have much improved circulation. I’ve been doing exercises for that, so it’s working apparently. I may be mildly allergic to my muscle pain medicine, so I’m off that for now. All in all I
‘m doing pretty well. If I can start losing weight a little faster I’d be super. To that end I’ve been doing a lot of portion control and/or fasting depending on how active I’m going to be. If I’m not hungry I don’t let myself nervously eat, or just have meals out of habit when I don’t need one.

I’m used to the c pap enough that I an sleep with it, even though I still don’t sleep as I’ve always known it. A lot of the time I feel energetic but not rested. Possibly when my allergies are under control that will clear up. I pretty much can’t sleep without the mask now because the apnea wakes me up regularly now. As long as I wear the mask I don’t sleep choke, although I’m still having problems with my back and whatnot from sleeping on one side for too long, and the bed not supporting me properly. I’m working on a fix for that, but at the moment I just sleep on the floor for a bit then move to the bed once I’m sorted out.

So that’s where I am. Hopefully on track to heal up and be healthier in the long term. That said, I welcome advice and support. XD

Well I’m no doctor but I’m very happy to hear things are looking up for you medically! It’s been sounding pretty difficult to live with xD also how old is Mike?? While these lady friends are adults there is likely some sort of considerable age gap here

I doubt mike is even 3 years older than thomas and co. management in these places don’t exactly tend to have an age gap between manager and employee so much as just the amount of experience, and whoever is willing to put up with the most crap for the least amount of money

Dang it. Why is it always the nifty people that end up with such a laundry list of health issues?
Glad to hear you’ve had some improvement. Here’s to more!

I always hope is that the Jerk@$$es suffer the consequences their poorly lived lives and die young.

(* sigh *)

History has shown, however, my faith in some form of Justice in the world id misplaced. the SOBs live to ripe old ages, smoke and drink and live on Welfare or Disability well into their dotage. On my dime. Love him or hate him, Billy Joel was right:

“Only the Good Die Young!”

Not that Mike is aware, but when a furry circle is the better option to pick up girls than a ….

In retrospect, I think it actually is, regardless. I could totally see him with Maddie

I thought Mike was a transplant. New in town, doesn’t know anybody. How many of this store are there in the immediate area?

I’m not sure whether you’re describing a diet or not. Please don’t diet! It’ll permanently mess up your metabolism. Avoiding nervous eating is a great idea. Changing what you eat, or when, is fine as far as the research I’ve seen. But don’t try to lose weight by limiting daily calories. There are a very few people who can make that work long-term, and they pay a substantial price.

Your body treats seriously restricted calories as a sign that occasional famines occur, and changes its metabolism for the long term to store up body fat for the next famine. Eat properly, lose weight slowly if you want to keep it off.

The best thing to do is avoid sugar, especially HFCS. It’s tough on your liver, and your body converts the fructose part (~50%) straight into stored fat.
Eating plenty of good fats and oils is much healthier. Avoid trans-fats, they are a killer. Try to get plenty of omega 3s and 6s and you can lose weight without triggering the famine response. Saturated fats have an unjustified bad rep – latest research indicates they are not bad for you.
(Short story is that trans-fats are so bad that they made all the studies on fats look like all fats are bad. Non-trans aren’t, but doctors are very conservative and slow to change their recommendations. )

I was of two minds about sending this to you, since I don’t know your medical history, but then I thought that there’s no harm in sending you the link and letting you decide whether it’s helpful or not. A friend of mine has done quite a lot of research on weight loss and management, specializing in Type 2 diabetes, and has written a lot on potential strategies. Here’s the link. https://intensivedietarymanagement.com I’m not a medical person myself, nor have I needed to take part in any of these sorts of programs, but I know my friend – he’s thorough, trustworthy, and smart, and he’s not the sort to want to be popular or be out to make a profit, so his research is probably pretty sound. Anyway, it’s there if you want to look at it.

I dunno man. Mike and Reggie seem to be getting ready for their own sitcom. Mike sets himself up for a fall, and Reggie pushes him over the edge. Cue laugh track.

Anyway, given the opportunity, I’m a little surprised Reggie hasn’t used — and the readers haven’t suggested — The Nuclear Option. Big Mike wants a woman. Reggie wants Mike to stop being… chummy-gummy.

Of course I’m talking about… bring on EVRINA!

Well, Evrina mentioned how she liked Reggie’s “Moxie” when they had their first argument. I’m not sure if that means she loves Reggie a little or loves someone who won’t cower when the dog barks. Either way, she wouldn’t be into Mike, especially when she already has a pussy-whipped fanboy. However, Maddie is enough of a daft romantic to fall for Mike.

True enough on all three counts. I was trying to provoke (can you tell I’m sitting here watching Ghost Hunters?) and got one well-thought-out response. Maddie is probably the most likely (if ooshy) candidate.

We used a similar phrase when referring to certain pubs in my home town.
“What’s it like? Any good?
“It’s a bit shit but quite good… Ish.”

I’m really glad to hear that you are finally healing up and getting some of your issues worked out! I hope the better health continues and you can return to full health. :)
