1142 Bye Bye, French Fry.

Unsurprisingly Ed’s slam ricochets right off of Jessie’s hull, failing to land with any real external damage, and Jess goes in for the kill. Will she be one of the people in the crowd trying to seduce Nina? Who can say? If nothing else she gave her brother fair warning. More than fair really. It’s actually something more like a comic book villain’s subconscious desire to be stopped before they do something terrible. She is her brother’s Joker…

They had a new box of blind bag MLP figures at the store. Seems a little late in the game for it now. I feel like I heard rumors about the show continuing, but there was a sort of finality to the last episode that made it seem like maybe things were done. I guess we’ll see. In any case the boxes were from a wave I didn’t have any of, so I wasn’t able to get the two figures I’m missing from the last box they had.

I did, however, finally get the last figure from the Halo Mega Bloks series seven blind bags. Originally I got a complete set from the first box I found, but the covenant elite commando was incomplete, so I had to go searching for it again. Strangely it’s a common figure, but every box since then had every one of them pulled. It made me wonder if it was happenstance, or if maybe there is someone out there trying to army build with them who also knows about the secret codes. Of course I ended up with a couple of random guys because they switched codes between boxes 3 times and I just had to guess before I found the updated lists. This wave has been the most slapdash of any I’ve collected. Up to this point I’ve had no real problems with the figures being poorly painted, or broken in some way, but this wave… Parts are just not there, paint is random or inconsistent, limbs are incomplete, or loose. Not a good sign. Of course there are signs of cost cutting in a lot of luxury goods, so this shouldn’t really be a surprise.

To this day I am baffled why they used their franchise about cute talking ponies for a movie almost completely lacking in them. It wasn’t terrible, by far, but still quite puzzling. :)

The truth is a bit horrifying…the show’s producers noticed all of the ponies-as-humans art on tumblr, and decided maybe that was what the fans wanted.

As I recall, one of the writers for the show said that Equestria Girls had been in production since at least Season 2, if not Season 1. The real reason Hasbro made EQG has nothing to do with what fans drew or wanted, but because they wanted to create a line of Monster-High-like dolls and it was easiest to tie it in to an existing franchise.

Ah, if Jess really wanted Nina that bad, I’m guessing she would’ve gone straight towards her instead of talking Ed. She could just be trying to get him to play the game, but I can be wrong. So very wrong. I’m probably wrong. The word wrong sounds silly to me now.
Wrong. I hope you’re all happy.

Naw its sisterly love, shes tired of seeing him so alone but hes so used to being an isolator that he is unsure how to make a move forward. Shes just trying to nudge him forward
Jess is deep but she also has her sneaky bad side. like with Brooksie, we dont know if deep down she is serious about her or if she is just playing around still. Thats an Interesting relationship to see develop.

My money remains on Jo shocking everyone and doing the pursuing and catching and keeping. Perhaps in a sneaky way of making Jess think she’s the one doing those things. :)

with no other evidence yet, all i can think of Jess is that’s very much like Walter from ‘The Big Lebowski’: as in “am i wrong?” “no walter, you’re not wrong, you’re just an asshole”

Normally, Jess’ comments would ring true, but I suspect she’s forgetting one important thing. Relationships are a two way street. Nine comes across to me as a solid, grounded person (with just the right touch of whimsy). Someone who knows what she wants, and what she doesn’t want. And so far, she has made it abundantly clear she wants Ed. But she’s also aware of Ed ‘s personality and is seeking the right moment to “attack”. I seriously doubt Jess has any chance of seducing her.

I think you’re missing the point of what Jess is saying entirely. If Nina rejects her, it’s no skin off her nose. She can go hit on someone else and she’ll find someone who will be interested in her. But she’ll be damned if she doesn’t put herself out there.

Not that I should be judging a comic book character, but if he didn’t, right then and there, go over and talk to that beautiful blonde amazonian woman, and at least attempt to go out in a non-work environment, then… well, he wasn’t ready for anything, much less someone he is actually interested in. His sister DID give him fair warning, and I sincerely hope he doesn’t let her win.

She seems to have some weird fascination with potato products. ^_^

I bet she ends a phone call with her long-distance French-Canadian boyfriend with “‘Till next we contravene, my Poutine!”

ED: “The Canadian boyfriend isn’t real!”
Jess: “Oh he’s real! And REALLY puts the ‘French’ in Fre–”
ED: “STOP TELLING ME THINGS!!!”
