Kudos to Reggie in his role as Pizza Pope and to you Jackie for how this particular storyline has played out. You too should feel proud.

And now Reggie is Bishop on the cheesboard. Let’s see Thomas King, Carol Queen, Edward Knight, Nina Rook/Castle, Brooksie second bishop, John second Rook, Mike second Knight, rest as pawns. Sound off with own pieces!

Reggie and Brooksie both make sense as Bishops with how they approach things from a different angle than most, but I feel like her aptitude for stealth also fits a Knight’s jump-moves, while Ed’s directness and brawn most befit a Rook. Thomas’ underhandedness could fill in the thus-emptied role of a Knight or Bishop, shunting Mike into being King – he doesn’t have the vision for long moves, for all that he is absolutely willing to get his hands proverbially dirty with the rest of the team.

Aww! Panel 2 is so sweet! You did a great job capturing their love for each other, especially in their expressions.

This little arc of Pizza Pope Reggie has been cute from start to end, and his bewilderment at the end is very much something he’s surprised by. He’s used to seeing tears as being the results of anger, pain, and sadness, that he can’t understand they’re sometimes part of a release for joy, too. I see a lot of myself in his bewilderment here.

Maddie has always struck me as likely physically demonstrative, even aside from kissing Reggie.

“Beary best of friends” is going into the scripture, isn’t it?
