I have been kind of blankly going about my work for a few days. It’s good that I have trained myself to compartmentalize my work creativity since my personality can be in this blank state but I can still function for work. I guess when your mental being is already split apart in so many way it’s easier to break off another little bit and keep on going. My sleep schedule has shifted into the late morning and afternoon, which is always what slowly happens when it’s just dad and I. If it stays within a certain range it isn’t disruptive but now it’s trying to rotate around all the way. So I want to be sleeping for half the hours I would normally be working. This is the constant danger of setting your own hours.

Anyway, I don’t feel like dissecting it for an hour in the blog. Rather I will wish you a pleasant midweek and invite you to join me here on Friday for more of my particular brand on nonsense. As always your attention to the support links would be appreciated. Until next we meet, may the ground rise to meet you.

He lost his goatee in the last panel, does he do that often?

Constantly if you look through the archive. It turns out this comic is produced by a human being who sometimes forgets things. Maybe someday AI will take over and fix this shitshow.

Their chemistry is just unstoppable.

I will convert into a night goblin if left to my own devices. Caring for my dog forces me to get up in the morning – at least to pee, and if I’m lucky she’ll let me sleep in. I love her so very much, but I can be more productive at night and I miss sleeping in, even if its just an hour on the weekend…but no, the walkies cannot wait. She’ll whine and bark at every passers-by, so it’s tough to just sleep through it. It’s a constant conflict with my natural night goblin sleep cycle. AND husband is a morning person. I’m doomed.

I found a trick is to maintain routine. Easier said than done, but its easy to fall into sleeping in for a day or two and the brain wants that dopamine kick from “just a few more minutes”. If reset is needed, get up early (7:30 for me) and you’ll be really tired for a few days as you readjust. It’s how I’ve recovered from jet lag coming back to the states every time, and it might be a week or two before you fully reset (coming back has always been harder for me) or at least shift sleep schedule enough to where you need. I hope that’s at least little helpful, easier said than done I know…it’s a maintenance problem, not a “one and done” fixed problem (sure would be nice!)
