 This situation is a call back to an earlier scene with Thomas and John.  The intention is to show that the relationships between Thomas, Ed, and John, are of a similar dynamic.  The basis for the interaction actually comes from my relationship with my friend Nick, who tolerates my mean sense of humor, while countering with his own.
