789 Do I Creep You Out?

This was a fun story to do. I’ll probably revisit some of the ideas over time as well. There is definitely one more car centric story I want to do later on. Maybe by then I’ll be able to draw it better. XD

Wednesday begins a little story mostly with Thomas and Nina. They start the whole thing anyway. I hope you’re as amused by it as I am.

Sometimes I sit down to write stuff here and end up just stopping because the issue I want to talk about is so complex I can’t sort it out in my head. This is one of those times. It’s not like I just started thinking about the topic either. I’ve been mulling it over for several days trying to make it into a series of words other people can understand. I’m not around other people in situations where I interact socially for any length of time anymore, so I’ve gotten used to just thinking to myself, so I don’t have to translate it out of my brain speech. I assume everyone has a unique brain speech that would become more obvious if they were isolated for a long period of time. It’s like a mental shorthand that YOU understand while someone else would only get a vague idea of.
My internal monologue used to be very verbal, but over time away from people it’s become more image oriented. Plus, it’s so natural I only noticed a change because of times when I need to communicate an idea and sorting out the complex jumble of concepts was difficult. On some level this has to be like what happens to a castaway. All thought begins to become so unique to yourself that you have difficulty relating to others.
Casual conversation is no problem, but big concepts are. They would be anyway by their very nature, but the added difficulty of unraveling a thought that makes perfect sense to you but not to someone outside your head can be frustrating.
I should probably make an effort to talk about complex ideas with people more often. Just so I don’t lose the capability.

I think being able to throw in a creepy “coincidence” with the car later on is a fun ace in the hole to entertain those of us who read this story line. It could be a fun way to break up a part of a future plot and be witty like “Hey, remember that time we talked about this?”

Reminds me of that car from the Regular Show that kept saying “Ello Guvna!”, then runnin someone down.

Yes, I browse through CN from time to time >_> <_<

Do do do dooo, do do do dooo~~
*attempt at creepy theme*

It was clearly I, the Gran Sorceror, who played with yer car’s lights. I have powers, and I abuse them often!

Heh, just recently I’ve been having a little trouble with my car starting up as I climb in or out even with the keys in my hand. I think it’s just a malfunctioning automatic starter, but this comic reminded me of it.

I was half expecting the car to shed a tear and say something like “why dont you love me like that ;-;”

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who’s reminded of “Ello Gov’nor” from Regular Show. XD

Don’t know if this is just me thinking weirdly laterally, but could this be explained by John maybe breaking into his car and installing something to let him control the horn and/or lights remotely to mess with Tom’s mind.

Used to have a pickup that wouldn’t die until you took it out of reverse or turned off the headlights. Glad it’s gone for a myriad of reasons.

If it was a more modern vehicle it would be relatively easy to update some of the functions thanks to the use of computers in their control systems. The slightly older first gen computer controllers did seem like the car was haunted when they star going flaky with random activations due to temperature + humidity + electrical noise + vibration. My sis still thinks my Golf is possessed by drunken circuit pixies.

I like Noname’s idea–
“Don’t know if this is just me thinking weirdly laterally, but could this be explained by John maybe breaking into his car and installing something to let him control the horn and/or lights remotely to mess with Tom’s mind.”

Did anyone else notice that Thomas’s chest hair seems to have grown in the shape of a heart? And I thought everyone agreed that “heart” was the lame power? Curious touch though crave, not sure if I like it or not but, it does stick out a little, I have to give you that, was it intentional?

Has no one else noticed that his chest hair is in the shape of a heart? Oh, DJ did. Good eyes, dude.

I think explaining the idea of “Brain Speech” and making it perfectly understandable is a pretty good example of “talking about complex ideas with people more often. Just so [you] don’t lose the capability.”

So great job!

I haven’t used my brain in a while so it’s hard to figure out whether I could have a reasonable conversation without faking or steering the conversation toward things I’ve tread on and therefore already know well.

Funny thing to notice, but I like the bewb squish on Carol squeezing up to Thomas, it’s a detail some might miss.
