275 A Single Tear.

I used some of my Christmas gift certificate to get the Mystery Science Theater 3000 DVD set Volume 4.  So now I have 1 through 7…  or 8, I forget.  At any rate, it’s a straight run now.  That little part of my brain that hates holes in collections is partly satiated.  I thought that they stopped making them after 8 or so, but I looked on Amazon, and there were listings for several more sets.  That’s fine by me.  I can now add them to my collection, in glorious, numerical, order.

Volume 4 has 2 of my favorite episodes: Hamlet & Space Mutiny.  It also has 2 episodes I’ve never seen, so that’s fun.  The box seems to infer that these are all Mike episodes, which is fine by me.  Don’t get me wrong, I like Joel episodes, but they are funny in a different way.

I keep meaning to buy some of the Riftrax stuff, but haven’t gotten around to it.  I’ve heard some clips, and they are hilarious.  Plus, they can do new movies too.  I’ll probably get the one for Transformers first.  Then maybe The Matrix.

Oh man. Volume 4 is my favorite! Overdrawn at the Memory Bank is my favorite episode of MST3K ever! Space Mutiny is amazing also!

This comment is a little late, but it was really just too perfect not to say anything. I feel very strongly about those DVDs.

Now to read the remaining 100 pages…

I’m looking into getting MST3K! I like Mike more too, he has better timing and comic delivery than Joel. I love that show, my friend made me a tye-dye shirt with the chairs, Crow, Tom, and Mike’s silhouettes.

“gasm” is actually a suffix used primarily to express joy. A mouthgasm is a verbal reaction to a particularly delicious food. Orgasm, joy derived from organs. So on and so forth. The use of “sargasm” very likely, in this context, is a way to express the joy Carol’s use of sarcasm gave him.

Unsure whether to thank you or resent you for the detailed explanation… You systematically extracted all the magic from my use of the word.
But yeah. That is pretty much it.
I loves me some super-dry sarcasm.

Space Mutiny is the best episode in my opinion, simply for the obvious usage of the original Battlestar Galactica special effects (ripped from the original pilot) and all the names that the protagonist gets called during the show. Big McLargeHuge!
