No snub to Thomas, but this reminds me of the poster that says: “Have a nice Day!….until some S.O.B. louses it up!” :p

[ I think this motto is on a t-shirt, too].

I think the word you were looking for was “paradigm” not idiom Jackie. Idiom is more of a type of metaphor.

: a style or form of artistic expression that is characteristic of an individual, a period or movement, or a medium or instrument the modern jazz idiom; broadly : manner, style a new culinary idiom

Jackie, you are right. A paradigm is more like a defining example, like the way “Amo, amas, amat …” defined the first conjugation of Latin verbs. The things you list are not examples. Tey are idioms.

Also, “Idiom” makes it a reference to Monty Python and the Holy Grail. And Monty Python references improve everything!

Well, not coffee,… or ice cream, but the Pythons make everything else in life better.
(I mean; you can’t improve ice cream,… Unless it was COFFEE Ice Cream!)

I’m happy to hear about you teeth, teeth are really important for health in early life. And middle life and late life, they can set the stage for a good end of life or a rotten one.

I’d take a page out of Londo Mollari’s book. “Moon-faced Assassin of Joy” has such a lovely ring to it.

I’m kinda like Thomas here too. Trying to be less like it, because I did it too much and got grumpy. Don’t want to ignore reality either. Weirdest thing is I got grumpy despite being sure it’ll get better. Check out Matthew 24:3-14 (click my name).
