I had a weird dream, but was so tired when I woke up I knew I was just going to fall asleep again, so I made a note to myself to help remember. When I looked at the note it was so cryptic I had no idea what I was trying to say to myself. It was sort of like my dream brain couldn’t understand how to write in a way my waking one would understand. At the time I thought I was being very clear, but I absolutely wasn’t. It’s just a series of words that make no real sense. XD

Anyway, I started listening to this podcast about games for phones and that kind of thing so I could maybe find ones besides Bejeweled, and Bookworm. There’s not a lot of places to get decent information about app store games. Mostly it’s one bit of information barfed up all over the net, which is useless.

They mentioned, in passing, that there was a Gen 1 Transformers game that came out. On a whim I decided to get it, even though they didn’t actually say anything about the game, just that it existed. It’s basically a Fire Emblem style tactics RPG with a Transformers skin. Which is exactly the kind of thing I’ve wanted since video games have been around, but never got. I won’t lie to you, it’s basic at best. That said, it has a lot of potential. If they made a version of Transformers Gen 1: Awakening for, say, the DS. It could potentially be the game that makes up for every shitty Transformers game to date. The character models are sort of a mish mosh of the cartoon, and the various sales images that Hasbro has been trotting around with for the last 5 years or so. From one screen to another the styles don’t match between a single character, but it’s still nice looking, especially for a game made to be on a phone. Plus it’s like $4 or something. It’s glitchy, and kind of spartan, but it’s as close to a decent Transformers RPG as we’re likely to get anytime soon. I hope it does well enough that they maybe expand on the idea and release a serious version later on.

They should make it so that you can download the Wii virtual console stuff to the DSi. It’s not like most of those games need a lot of power to function. At least the stuff that doesn’t require weird motion controls. I’d like to play a lot of the old stuff portable style…

I wonder if anyone at Nintendo ever thinks of this stuff. It seems like there must not be a guy like that there considering that most of their focus seems to be focused on coming up with the next wacky peripheral I won’t like… I’m looking at you Wii Balance Board.

I played Fire Emblem so much that it actually managed to infect my dreams. My brain was clearly trying to give me some typically weird scenario, but it was all mixed up in turn based combat and grid tactics. That’s actually pretty rare. The things I do don’t usually have an obvious affect on my dreams unless I overdo it right before bed.

I got to see Ponyo. As expected it was pretty good. Very kid oriented, but something a parent wouldn’t mind having to watch a million times if a child became obsessed with it. At least that would be my guess. Anyway, I enjoyed it and I’m pretty childish.

I am far too excited about a new Pokemon game. I know it will be just like every other Pokemon game, in every important respect, but still I am filled with childlike glee. I’m also thrilled that the Pokewalker gadget is included. Walking is boring as hell at the best of times, but getting game stuff for doing something good for me is enticing.

I’m doubly pleased by this release because I now know other comic type making peoples who are as poketarded as I am. At some point battles will be waged. Sad, pathetic, battles between nerds. Nerding it out like only nerds can. The epic struggles of my people. XD

When I was a kid everyone thought I was advanced for my age. Now they think I’m childish and odd. It seems like I just knew who I was quicker and stuck with it. At this point it’s far too late for a rebranding, so I may as well enjoy being me the way I am.

The ending of Path Of Radiance was awesome though. I like how everyone gets a little scene to themselves. I was really sad to see how badly things went in the 3 years between games though. Of course if things don’t go to Hell you have no story, but…

I got the Wii Pokemon game for $12. Suck it Nintendo! I win this round. I finally got a console Pokemon game for an amount of money equal to as half assed as the game will undoubtedly be.

I have no idea how it is Nintendo can’t make a decent console Pokemon game. Although there are those who would argue with me on this opinion. I actually enjoyed the first Gamecube outing. I HATED the art style though. The same goes for the next one. At least the Wii thing seems to look a bit less crap. I don’t know why you’d toss out the sweet style they use for the packaging on a game for a system capable of rendering it. I’ve always liked the art for the trainers and whatnot.

Anyway, I got a good deal. Last copy on clearance at a Target. I was denied my potential clearance Masterpiece Skywarp, but what can you do. I wasn’t about to pay $60 for it.

I’m not really sure how many people I actually know still check the comic every update, but I’ll be in Garden on Wednesday the 24th. Probably will end up at the Gamestop at around 2, your time, and then we’ll have dinner at the usual place around 5-6 ish. Let me know if you’re going to be around.

I’ve been playing through the Gamecube Fire Emblem. At first it was a few battles a night, but as they got more complex it’s become more like one, or less than one, a night if I screw up. I’d be done with it already, but I restarted it about halfway through because I decided I wanted to focus on other characters. Of course, no matter what you do you can’t see every support conversation without playing a bunch of times. Unless I’ve done something wrong at least… I’ve missed out on Ike and Elincia’s ones though because I didn’t think to save any conversation slots for them. X< I’m hoping you can save them up on subsequent playthroughs… I understand if you play the hard mode the ending is different. These reports are unconfirmed. I’d like to see whatever ending is the “real” one.

You can transfer information from the Gamecube version to the Wii game. I didn’t know this before, but now I’m obsessed with having the best save data ever on my Wii game will be extra cool. The downside to this obsession is that it’s making my replay things I wouldn’t necessarily. I mean I already play halfway through and started over. This can’t end well…

That said, the story is awesome.

I’m wondering how many people are going to understand the connection between the title and what happens on the page. It reminds me of a guy I worked for once who was really interested in LOTR and knew a lot more about Radagast the Brown that I thought was necessary.

I think I may have come to the end of this cycle of remembering dreams. I woke up the today and knew I had been having one, but it just faded away. Anyway, I had one last one I remember bits of.

It had something to do with wandering around in a school. It looked as if the place hadn’t been used in a long time. I honestly can’t recall what the point of things were. I just remember the floating dust particles in the rays of light as we wandered from place to place. I’m not even sure who I was exploring with. I have a vague memory of it being a woman though. It was a very normal style high school. The kind they built in the 80s and 90s. I’m not sure if the style has changed since then. I assume it’s gotten even cheaper and shittier.

There were parts that were very dark and other parts where light was getting in through windows where the covering was falling away. I think we were catching glimpses of apparitions moving between rooms in the darkness, but I don’t remember feeling bothered by it. It seemed like the school was closed after a disaster of some kind, then abandoned. That’s not much of a plot compared to most of these, but I guess they can’t all be potential film ideas. XD Of course it could just be that I don’t remember the key bits that would make it make sense. It was neat to see at any rate. It might make a good game. Better if I’d had a sweet proton pack though…

This isn’t important in any way, but my old DM looked a little like John Turturro from Oh Brother Where Art Thou, and spoke in a slow, even, monotone. In fact, he might even look more like the guy that was supposed to be his cousin. I don’t recall the actor’s name.

This kind of dream, is more equivalent to a nightmare than most dreams I have about traditionally horrible things.

I also has a longer dream about being part of a group of people trapped with strange flying creatures in a sports arena. There were almost no lights so you couldn’t see them coming. There were also traps and crap to take you out. There were a few groups of people, but mine only had three left when someone showed up to get everyone out. We were supposed to get out first because the girl in the group found a disc of some sort. The tiny kind like they tried to popularize a while back.

She was supposed to get into this machine with it and then place it in the disk slot so it would unlock the door. I tried to stop her from listening to the guide but she insisted that we had won and were going to be set free. Unfortunately when she put the disc into the drive it set of a hydraulic press and crushed her to death. I was coming out of things when that happened, but I think me and the other guy were let go after that.

Usually I don’t have dreams with that kind of pointless gore, but I guess there’s some inside me someplace. I’ve never seen any of the Saw films, but I feel like this is what one would be like. Except for the weird darkness bat things anyway.
