Maintaining order is not the kind of thing that’s likely to win you a lot of friends. Carol has accepted this on some level, and even revels in it a bit. Since the store changes managers so often she has become, in many ways, the defacto manager. The staff looks to her for guidance, concerning store matters, more readily than whoever home office has sent in to babysit. It’s an odd situation to live with. She’s part of the group, but also apart from it. On the one hand she enforces some rules, but flagrantly ignores others. She’s often torn between wanting to do a good job and wanting to take part in the fun. Having an ever increasing crush on Thomas didn’t help matters either. It eventually lead to her opening up to Nina, although she never admitted to being infatuated with Thomas. Nina figured that out on her own. Of all the people in the store, Nina is the only one who could be truly considered Carol’s friend. In fact, Carol has become less harsh, and more accepted, with Nina’s help. When she was much younger Carol was actually shy, bookish, and mousy. She only began to craft her harsh outer shell when she blossomed, and suddenly had to deal with a lot of unwanted attention. Carol is somewhat pragmatic, but once she sets her mind on something she will pursue it zealously. She is also relatively impatient, and hates having to wait for something she wants. Carol loves, and can be easily pacified with, almost any kind of ice cream. Actually hearing her sing is a rarity, but Carol has a beautiful voice.
